On the eve of the New Year, December 31, there will be warm weather without precipitation in our country. Meteorologist Nataliia Didenko announced this.

According to her forecast, during the day on December 31, the air temperature will be +2...+5 °C, and in the southern part of the country +5...+10 °C. No precipitation is expected, as an anticyclonic area will cover the entire continental Europe, including Ukraine.

In Kyiv, sunny weather is expected on December 31, with a maximum temperature of up to +3 degrees.

The meteorologist also warns that a characteristic feature of December 31 and the first days of the New Year will be strong winds from the western directions.

During the night on January 1, the air temperature is expected to be around 0 °C. However, on the first day of the New Year, the temperature will rise to +4...+9 °C, and in the southern regions of the country to +6...+11 °C. There are no forecasts for precipitation, so the New Year will start sunny.

On Thursday, January 2, it will become even warmer, but approaching the weekend, from January 3 to 4, a drop in temperature is expected in Ukraine.

It should be noted that January 2025 will be warmer in Ukraine than usual. The average monthly temperature is expected to be above normal. According to the forecast, the average monthly air temperature in January will be 0...-3 °C, while in Transcarpathia, Crimea, and the Odesa and Kherson regions, it is expected to be 0...+2 °C, which is 1.5-2 °C higher than the normal figure.

The Copernicus Climate Centre (C3S) of the European Union also reported that November of this year was the second warmest in history, after November of last year. Climate change has the potential for catastrophic consequences for humanity. According to the UN, half a million people die each year from heat, and the global economy suffers trillions in losses.
