US Winter Diesel Travels 15,000 Kilometers to Reach Ukraine.
US Winter Diesel Fuel Bound for Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: Winter-grade diesel fuel from the United States is making its way to Ukraine's UPG network. This fuel, specially formulated to perform in temperatures as low as -27°C, is a critical resource for the harsh winter months. The journey begins at a Valero refinery in the US, highlighting a transatlantic energy partnership.
A ship transports the American diesel to a port in Poland, from where it continues into Ukraine. The average distance covered by this fuel is a staggering 15,000 kilometers. This supply chain is a key component of Ukraine's energy security strategy during the cold season, ensuring vital transportation and logistics can continue to function.
UPG's Logistics and Operational Capabilities
To manage this complex delivery, UPG utilizes its own terminals and fuel depots in Poland, supported by a fleet of hundreds of railway tankers and fuel trucks. This infrastructure ensures efficient final-mile distribution of the fuel within the region.
Dmytro Petrenko noted: 'This batch of fuel began its journey at the Valero refinery in the United States. From there, a vessel carried it across the ocean and sea to UPG's own terminals in Poland. On average, the American diesel travels 15,000 kilometers before it reaches your vehicle's fuel tank.'
The delivery of US winter diesel via Poland underscores the logistical efficiency required to support Ukraine's needs. The ability to supply fuel that remains operational in extreme cold is not just a commercial endeavor but a vital support mechanism for the country's transportation sector during winter.
