Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) was introduced in February 2024 in the United Kingdom. The medication works by suppressing appetite and helping people eat less, which in turn causes the body to burn fat for energy.

"It has changed my life," Joly emphasized, comparing himself to his Labradors. "You still feel hungry, enjoy the food, but after six or seven bites, you realize you're full."

How Joly Learned About Injections

The comedian also mentioned a funny incident about how he first learned to give injections. "My neighbor is a judge. She started looking great and offered to show me how to take Mounjaro," Joly recounted.

"I knocked on the judge's door and said, 'Hello, show me how this works.' I found myself in her bathroom, and at that moment, her 14-year-old daughter walked by."

Joly's Health Issues

His weight loss journey began after being diagnosed with sleep apnea in 2018. Joly was warned that his life could be at risk if he did not start treatment. "If I didn't get treatment, I would be risking a stroke or heart attack in 10 years," he shared, adding that it scared him a lot.
