This summer, it was revealed that Brooklyn, 26, has legal troubles with an alcoholic beverage brand.
He is also facing difficulties with the rights to his sauce company and various projects before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Dispute with On Cloud Brand
This time, the discontent was caused by the fashion footwear brand On Cloud, known for its unique soles, in which tennis legend Federer has invested $50 million.
Among other notable brand ambassadors are Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber and Tom Holland's girlfriend Zendaya.
The brand filed a preliminary opposition against the trademark application for Cloud23, covering categories that include food, beverages, sauces, streaming, and sports equipment.
The footwear brand hired famous lawyers from Bristows LLP to protect its interests.
Fortunately for Brooklyn, the situation appears to have been resolved amicably, as On Cloud did not pursue legal action further, and the trademark has been registered.
26-year-old Brooklyn has already been involved in legal disputes with the beer brand Becks over his hamburger brand Beck’s Buns.
This dispute ended with his company agreeing to remove two categories related to alcohol.
California wine business Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars also opposed when he attempted to register the shortened name for Cloud23, “C23”.
Similarly to Becks, Buster Hot Sauce Inc withdrew all alcoholic classes from its application.
Brooklyn launched his first sauce, Cloud 23, last year and said: “This has been a passion project for me for the last 2.5 years, I’ve literally poured everything into it. I’ve never worked so hard in my life.”
Family Issues
His parents attended the event marking the launch of his sauce in Los Angeles.
