Scissor Sisters announce new album after 14 years: what we know.
According to The Sun: The group SCISSOR SISTERS is working on new music after a successful tour this summer.
In the 2000s, the band scored ten hits in the Top 40 and had two chart-topping albums, including songs like I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’, Filthy/Gorgeous, Take Your Mama, and Laura.
Next year, the American band plans to release their first album in 14 years.
The group consists of vocalist Jake Shears, guitarist Del Marquis, and bassist Babydaddy. They announced that they are back in the studio at the Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, supported by Jaguar, and the project is already 'well underway.'
Jake said: “Scissor Sisters has always been about embracing ourselves as we are, coming together and celebrating humanity.”
“It’s exciting to look back, but also really interesting to look forward.”
“We’re back in the studio creating new music after a long time, and the next chapter is already well in progress.”
The group received the Music Icon award at a celebration in Camden, North London, on Wednesday evening, and Jake, performing in a bright jumpsuit, joked during his speech.
He addressed the audience: “The most amazing thing is that we’re back here after so many years – it’s how little we’ve aged.”
“I hope we continue to inspire others and those who come after us to create and express freely, finding joy in not always taking ourselves seriously.”
Jake also joked about Glastonbury, mentioning that their performance on the Woodsies stage happened at the same time as Charli XCX and Doechii at the festival this summer.
‘It’s terrible’
Despite the fact that their set at the festival still attracted a large audience, he noted: “The UK has been a place where we felt loved and accepted.”
“Ironically, however, the most homophobic thing that ever happened in our career took place at Glastonbury this year – putting us against Charli XCX and Doechii. It’s terrible.”
“But people were coming, bringing their friends, boys, kids, and grandmas, and it reminds us why we do all this.”
Let’s hope they continue to do this for many years, creating new songs.
Lottie was late to the show
Lottie Moss learned that being late is not always stylish.
The younger sister of model Kate arrived so late to the ceremony that she missed the red carpet.
Everything had already been cleaned up by the time Lottie arrived, so she had to take pictures during the celebration.
She still looked stunning in a sleeveless silver dress.
However, despite her party-girl status, Lottie didn’t stick around long and quickly made her way home.
Sometimes an early night is all that’s needed.
Russell received the award for best celebration
The main winner of the evening was Russell Tovey, who also stayed last on the dance floor – he was named Man of the Year and stayed at the celebration until 2:15 a.m.
However, Russell looked quite good even then, showing no signs of drunk dancing.
He felt comfortable at the celebration, where many guests approached him to chat.
However, Russell admitted that he was not always that popular, especially in his acting career.
He recalls his early years in the profession: “People said, if you want to get to Hollywood, maybe you should fix your ears.”
“My ears are my feature! I was called all sorts of names in childhood: big ears, 'wings', 'up', FA Cup.”
“But there was never a thought that something should be done about it.”
Forward to new
IAN 'H' Watkins spoke about working on a secret music project.
When asked if he has been singing lately, the Steps singer hinted: “A bit. I’m working on a little project that’s unrelated to Steps, and it’s exciting, but I can’t say more. It’s not a musical.”
H has been with his partner Tom Hope for five years, but excluded the possibility of marriage in the near future.
He said: “I’m not in a rush. My kids are thriving, I have a wonderful partner, life is beautiful.”
Collaboration with Pamela
DENISE WELCH wore a suit and tie, confessing she draws inspiration from Pamela Anderson for the new stage of her career, returning to acting.
The panelists of 'Loose Women' said: “I’m starting my second act, which I stole from Pamela Anderson.”
“I love what I do. Last year I performed in a play with Matthew Kelly, and it reminded me how much I miss acting.”
“I continue to work on 'Loose Women', but I want people to remember what my primary work is. And I thought it was worth choosing a new style for my second act.”
She also spoke about her son Matt Healy from The 1975.
About their new music, she hinted: “It’s amazing. It’s very different, but has the DNA of The 1975. I think you’ll love it. I’m very proud of it.”
Denise also mentioned Matt’s unusual pet, which he got with his model fiancé Gabriette.
She said: “She has a rat named Splinter. I’m a rat grandma.”
It’s real rock-n-roll!
Amazing show!
CALUM SCOTT collaborated with Whitney Houston's estate to sing along with her in the song I Wanna Dance With Somebody, which he performed at the event.
Commenting on the mixed reactions to the duet, he said: “The messages I’m receiving that Whitney would be proud of this are huge compliments.”
This song is already on his third album titled Avenoir, which is released today, so hear for yourself what you think.
Liz happy to be the honorary gay
LIZ HURLEY received the brightest award of the evening when she was named Honorary Gay.
The actress and model, who came with her director son Damian, looked stunning in a shimmering dress with a thigh-high slit and shared on stage how gay men stayed with her while boys came and went.
She explained: “I would like to dedicate this beautiful award to all my wonderful gay friends because you truly have made my life better.”
“You were with us in the toughest times, even when I was on the brink. It was you who stood by me.”
Her boyfriend Billy Ray Cyrus is working on new music inspired by Liz.
On the new track coming next month, he sings: “I won’t be your rhinestone cowboy, I won’t be your rolling stone.”
“Everything I went through, I finally found my June. I said I’d love you the best I can.”
Bambi Thug on top of the world
BAMBI THUG will release their debut album next year after also becoming a model at fashion events.
The non-binary singer appeared at the event right after performing at Paris Fashion Week.
She commented on the album: “I have until December to finish it, so it pushes me.”
“It’s really a variety of sounds. I want to show that I can perform all genres.”
Thus, this event once again demonstrated that the music scene continues to grow and evolve, and celebrities are actively experimenting with their art. SCISSOR SISTERS are returning with new songs, while other artists contribute to culture and music, maintaining active communication with fans. The explosive energy of this evening surprised everyone and left many positive impressions.
