Iryna Karpa on love during war: how the new book will become 'medicine'

According to inkorr.com: Iryna Karpa presented her new book 'He Returns on Sunday', which she worked on for three years. She noted that nowadays readers are less interested in literature about war, as reported by 'Hlavkom', citing the Communication Service of a separate artillery brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine.

In her new book, the writer shares an honest story of love during war and separation, as well as talks about life on two continents. During a charity event in Kyiv, Iryna described her book as 'medicine'.

'This is medicine for amnesia. This is medicine so that people do not remain in their comfort zone. That is why I believe this is a story about lovers. I am a writer, dear people on the front line mean a lot to me. I am not a military expert. But I know people who have had their love taken away forever,' Karpa shared.

Iryna Karpa, who lives between Ukraine and France, also noted that the perception of the war in Ukraine is fundamentally different from how it is seen abroad.

'The farther you are from the war, the more you feel your helplessness. When there is an opportunity to act, there is no feeling of helplessness,' the writer emphasized.

Performances by poets at a cultural event in Kyiv

Earlier, military poets performed at 'Book Country' in Kyiv, as reported by 'Hlavkom'.

In her new book 'He Returns on Sunday', Iryna Karpa explores themes of love during war and separation, as well as the divided life between two countries. The writer emphasizes the importance of not staying in one's comfort zone and remembering those who are experiencing the war on the front lines.

This book is an important contribution to contemporary literature, as it not only reveals personal experiences but also offers a new perspective on the experience of war. Iryna Karpa seeks to draw attention to human stories that usually go unnoticed and remind us that behind every fact and news item, there are living people with their feelings and hopes.
