Two Ukrainians Reported Missing on Indonesian Island
According to TSN.ua: Two Ukrainian citizens, the sons of businessmen Ihor Komarov and Yermak Petrovsky, have gone missing while on vacation in Bali. The Indonesian police received a missing persons report on February 15. The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated it has not received any official appeals regarding a potential kidnapping of these individuals.
Substantial Ransom Demand Made
A ransom demand of $10 million USD has been issued for the missing Ukrainians. However, the Ukrainian Embassy in Indonesia also noted it has not received any direct requests or communications concerning this ransom. Bali is a popular tourist destination, but incidents involving foreign nationals can present complex diplomatic challenges.
"The institution has also not received official confirmation of the mentioned incident from the local competent authorities," emphasized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Adding a new layer to the unfolding situation, a lawyer for one of the potential victims reported that his client has left Indonesian territory. Further investigations by the Indonesian police are ongoing, and the circumstances remain unclear.
This case has caused concern among Ukrainian citizens and state bodies, as disappearances abroad can impact both personal safety and national reputation.
