Poliakov addressed EBU: demands changes in selection rules for Eurovision.
Olya Poliakov addressed the European Broadcasting Union
According to inkorr.com: Singer Olya Poliakov together with her partner Mykhailo Yasyinskiy initiated changes in the rules of the National Selection for Eurovision in Ukraine. They sent letters to the European Broadcasting Union and television to reconsider the restrictions that, in the opinion of the artists, unjustly hinder the participation of performers who performed in Russia and in occupied territories after 2014.
This issue has become particularly relevant after the 2022 scandal when it became known about the negative attitude of some artists towards Ukraine.
Olya Poliakov plans to participate in the next National Selection for Eurovision and expresses demands for rule changes to get the opportunity to showcase her talent on the international stage.
“I want Ukrainian music to have justice and opportunities for all artists who want to perform at Eurovision,”- said the singer.
Poliakov's initiative could be an important step towards a fair approach to selecting participants. Changes to the rules may open new opportunities for artists and promote the development of Ukrainian music on the international stage.
