According to The Sun: The Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood shared that he is collaborating with his long-time friend and former bandmate in Faces, Sir Rod Stewart, on new compositions.

Memories of the Past

On BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs program, Ronnie shared:

“We would love to do this. We have these songs that we've been working on from the past, but it's hard to coordinate our schedules.”

He also added:

“When we get the chance to get into the studio, we will finish these songs. We have a good collection.”

Ronnie noted that

“absolutely nothing has changed”
since they performed together in the 1970s, except that Sir Rod no longer allows the use of amplifiers on stage.

Wood also mentioned that his jam recordings with the late John Lennon and Yoko Ono were not saved. Ronnie shared:

“I met John once in New York, and we had a fantastic time. We went to Atlantic Studios and played all night, just singing and playing.”

When asked about the recordings, he noted:

“Good question — I would like to know what happened to them.”

New Releases from the Rolling Stones

Ronnie confirmed that the Rolling Stones will release a new album next year, adding:

“We are in the mixing stage.”

Among the selected pieces, Ronnie chose Maybe I’m Amazed by Paul McCartney and Piano Concerto No. 21 by Mozart (second movement), which he would like to take with him to a desert island.

The Faces group was formed in 1969 when Ronnie and Sir Rod — both from the Jeff Beck Group — joined the remnants of Small Faces after guitarist and singer Steve Marriott left the band. The rock group’s biggest hits include Stay With Me (1971) and Ooh La La (1973).
