Assault on Konstantynivka

According to TSN.ua: Russian military forces are continuing their assault on the town of Konstantynivka in the Donetsk region, employing incendiary phosphorus munitions and aerial bombs. These attacks pose a direct threat to the approximately 2000 civilians who remain trapped in the city, caught in the path of Russia's scorched-earth tactics. The use of such weapons in populated areas is a severe breach of international norms.

The offensive utilizes drones and heavy aerial bombs, including FAB-1500 models. A separate attack using a massive FAB-3000 bomb destroyed a dam near Osykove, flooding a section of the Druzhkivka-Konstantynivka highway. The destruction of a key bridge within Konstantynivka itself has severely crippled logistics, hindering the evacuation of people and the delivery of essential supplies.

The 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade stated: 'Konstantynivka. The brutal reality of a city that the Russians are wiping off the face of the earth.'

Ukrainian soldiers emphasize that 'we are not fighting an army, but true evil. And the only way for us to live in peace is to stop it.' Military analysts indicate that Russia is preparing for a renewed offensive, which could dramatically escalate the violence in this sector of the front.

Mounting Humanitarian Crisis

The situation in Konstantynivka reflects a sharp intensification of hostilities across Donetsk, where civilians are bearing the brunt of offensive operations. The deployment of banned munitions like phosphorus bombs has raised grave concerns within the international community regarding violations of international humanitarian law. The systematic destruction of critical infrastructure, particularly bridges and roads, severely impedes humanitarian aid and civilian movement, threatening to trigger a deeper regional humanitarian catastrophe.
