Russian Forces Regroup for New Offensive, Ukrainian Commander Reports.
Heightened Russian Military Activity
According to TSN.ua: On March 2, Viktor Tregubov, head of communications for the Joint Forces Command, reported that Russian occupying forces are intensifying their operations and regrouping troops on the Lyman and Kupiansk fronts. He noted that the frontline in the Donetsk region has moved approximately five kilometers closer to the city of Kramatorsk. This development comes as Russian forces continue their campaign in eastern Ukraine, seeking to exploit perceived weaknesses.
According to Tregubov, as of this morning, Russian units are focusing more on repositioning their forces than on launching direct assaults.
'As of this morning, the Russians are conducting more regrouping than attacking,' stated Viktor Tregubov. He interprets this activity as a clear sign of preparation for a larger-scale offensive. 'This is obvious because, first of all, they are preparing for a bigger offensive,' he added.
Logistical and Command Issues in Russian Ranks
Tregubov also pointed to emerging problems within the Russian military that could hinder its combat effectiveness.
'They have encountered logistical and command problems themselves, now that they have lost their Starlinks,' he emphasized. This internal disarray may significantly impact the occupiers' ability to conduct further operations on the front lines.
The increased activity on the Lyman and Kupiansk axes signals a potential escalation of hostilities, which could lead to a new phase of the conflict in the region. However, the reported logistical and command failures within the Russian forces may pose a substantial obstacle to the successful execution of their plans. Close monitoring of the frontline situation remains critical for assessing the next moves of both sides in this protracted war.
