Russia Launches Major Assault Across Ukraine

According to TSN.ua: On February 26, Russia unleashed a large-scale combined missile and drone attack targeting multiple regions of Ukraine. The assault, which included the use of ballistic missiles, struck the capital Kyiv and the city of Kharkiv, among other areas. Authorities in Kyiv urged residents to immediately seek shelter in safe places. This attack is part of a pattern of intensified aerial bombardments by Russian forces in recent months.

Kharkiv Endures Combined Air Strike

The city of Kharkiv came under a combined aerial assault. According to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, the first two explosions were reported in the Shevchenkivskyi and Kyivskyi districts. The attack on Ukraine also involved strike drones targeting the cities of Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, and Kryvyi Rih.

Furthermore, Russian strategic bombers, Tu-95MS and Tu-160 aircraft, were launched. A separate missile attack using 'Zircon' missiles was carried out from Crimea towards the Kyiv region. This escalation underscores the complex and multi-vector nature of the current Russian offensive.

This barrage represents one of the most extensive bombardments of Ukraine in recent times, confirming a concerning trend of intensified military action by Russia. The increasing scale and frequency of such strikes point to a potential sharpening of the conflict, with serious implications for regional security and stability. Ukrainian authorities continue to implement measures to protect civilian populations and critical infrastructure, repeatedly advising residents to follow safety protocols during such attacks.
