According to The Sun: S Club 7 star Jo O'Meara has reported her emergency hospitalization due to serious injuries sustained in the kitchen.

The 46-year-old singer shared with fans about the accident that happened while she was preparing soup on Thursday.

Jo lifted her sweater to show her tightly bandaged stomach, noting that she 'burned herself to bits.'

“That’s what happened, that was me trying to make a soup,”

In the video, she admitted that she realized: 'I don't know how to cook and I shouldn't be doing it.'

“I’m not safe, I’m not safe in the kitchen. I’m not safe anywhere near a kitchen and we know this now,”

Jo decided to make soup after numerous suggestions from fans but suffered serious burns and was forced to go to the hospital.

She also reported:

“I’ve got to go back every two days to get this dressing changed.”

The singer couldn't hold back her emotions:

“I cried real water tears and everything. It was terrible, it made me really sad.”

Despite the pain, Jo expressed gratitude that the burns didn't affect her face.

“I’m officially banned for life from the kitchen and I’m never cooking anything again, you’d be lucky to get a bit of toast out of me,”

Fans have shown support for Jo, wishing her a speedy recovery.

Previous health issues

This year has been tough for Jo, as she was also hospitalized in May.

Jo has openly spoken about her health issues before. In 2022, she underwent a failed emergency surgery.

In 2016, Jo nearly died from a strangulated bowel while on tour in New Zealand. After that, she changed her lifestyle, quitting smoking and alcohol.
