Electricity Rates Hold Steady at 4.32 UAH: New Rules for Dual-Zone Meters.
Ukraine's Electricity Tariffs from February 1, 2024
According to TSN.ua: The price of electricity in Ukraine will remain unchanged at 4.32 UAH per kWh from February 1 until April 30, 2024. This decision applies to all consumers, but introduces different rates for households with dual-zone and three-zone electricity meters. These tariffs are part of ongoing efforts to manage energy costs during a period of economic strain.
Tariffs for Consumers with Different Meter Types
- For consumers with dual-zone meters:
- Daytime rate: 4.32 UAH
- Nighttime rate: 2.16 UAH
- For owners of three-zone meters:
- Peak rate (8:00-11:00 & 20:00-22:00): 6.48 UAH
- Standard rate (7:00-8:00, 11:00-20:00, & 22:00-23:00): 4.32 UAH
- Off-peak rate (23:00-7:00): 1.73 UAH
A preferential tariff is also available for consumers using electric heating: 2.64 UAH for consumption up to 2,000 kWh, and 4.32 UAH for any usage beyond that. Authorities have stated that any future increases in electricity tariffs after the end of martial law will be implemented gradually.
Maintaining the electricity tariff at its current level is a crucial measure for consumers amidst ongoing economic instability.
The introduction of varied rates based on meter type is designed to encourage more efficient energy use by incentivizing consumption during cheaper off-peak hours. The special rate for electric heating aims to support households reliant on this method, particularly during winter. Consumers should anticipate that these rates may be subject to future adjustments, requiring adaptation to new pricing structures.
