Charges against DJ Tim Westwood

Tim, who is 68 years old, is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on November 10.

He has been charged in four cases of rape and nine cases of indecent assault.

The DJ is also accused of two counts of sexual assault, according to the Met police.

The youngest of the victims is a 17-year-old girl who reportedly became a victim of indecent assault in South-West London in 1983.

Two other complainants were aged between 17 and 18 years when, they say, they were attacked by the famous DJ.

All of these crimes allegedly occurred in London and Stroud.

The charges follow an investigation carried out by BBC, in which Westwood was accused of inappropriate behavior, which he denies.

Westwood left his show on Capital Xtra after these allegations.

The DJ is the son of the former Anglican bishop of Peterborough, Bill Westwood.

He gained fame by hosting the first nationally broadcast rap show on British radio from 1994.

Westwood has received several MOBO awards and hosts the British version of the show Pimp My Ride.

In 1999, he was seriously injured in a drive-by shooting.

“Our investigation continues, and we urge anyone who has been affected by this case, or anyone who has any information, to come forward,” said Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy from the Met police.
