Ukraine's Postal Service Revamps International Shipping with Free Returns.
Ukraine's Postal Service Overhauls International Delivery Rules
According to TSN.ua: Ukraine's national postal service, Ukrposhta, has enacted a major policy change for international shipments. Under the new rules, any parcel that is not successfully delivered abroad will be automatically returned to the sender in Ukraine at no extra charge. This move, which covers all standard scenarios, is designed to support customers and boost Ukrainian exports, according to Ukrposhta's General Director, Igor Smilyansky. This reform is particularly significant for small businesses and individual entrepreneurs who rely on international e-commerce.
Previously, having a parcel returned could cost the sender between $30 and $100, creating a substantial financial burden. The new, simplified return process is expected to enhance the reputation of Ukrainian exporters and facilitate their operations in the global marketplace by removing this cost barrier.
Enhancing Delivery Efficiency and Supporting Exporters
Ukrposhta delivers to more than 230 countries and territories worldwide. To ensure efficient service, the company leverages a partner network of national postal operators encompassing over 660,000 offices. This extensive infrastructure allows for quick responses to customer needs and reduces the logistical costs associated with returning undeliverable items.
The introduction of free returns is set to significantly improve conditions for Ukrainian exporters by mitigating the financial risks of international shipping. This decision underscores Ukrposhta's commitment to adapting to market demands and providing a more convenient service, which could help increase export volumes from Ukraine amid intense global competition.
