Machine Gun Kelly shocked BBC hosts: what made them freeze in the air.
Machine Gun Kelly's Comic Visit to Radio 1
According to The Sun: Machine Gun Kelly made the hosts of Radio 1, Melvin Odoom and Charlie Hedges, laugh during his performance in the Live Lounge.
The 35-year-old American musician exceeded all expectations, performing his popular hit Vampire Diaries and a cover of Feel Good Inc. by Gorillaz.
BBCBut during the interview, MGK's openness surprised everyone present. Charlie asked the singer if there are places on his body that are not tattooed.
Without hesitation, MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker, replied:
“Yes, my male part.”
This caused laughter as the musician could not understand why the air elicited such a reaction, saying:
“Do you need an answer or not? I'm using radio words, dude.”
At this time, Melvin commented:
“I love this guy.”
He also added:
“It's our own fault. He’s a rock star, what did you expect?”
MGK was surprised:
“What did you want me to say, my knee?”
Charlie asked if he has tattoos on his knees, and MGK confirmed he has tattoos on both the front and back of his knees, as well as under his armpits.
However, later he admitted he could have mentioned his toes or rear instead of his body parts to sound less provocative.
Reevaluating a Musical Career
MGK started his music career as a rapper and later transitioned to a more punk-rock sound. His latest album, Lost Americana, was released in August, and even Bob Dylan voiced the trailer for its release.
Earlier this year, MGK became a father for the second time when his fiancée, Megan Fox, 38, gave birth to their daughter, Sage.
Fatherhood and the improvement of his relationship with Fox likely affected the positive mood of the songs in Lost Americana. In a conversation with Vogue, MGK noted that he aims to avoid gloomy songs, considering the current situation in the world.
He said:
“Well, look: I think the state of the world is actually gloomy.”
MGK changed his sound for the better: the lead single Cliché and its cheerful music video showcase a happier and more content Baker.
