The Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov hopes for a better 2025 for Ukraine, but notes the serious challenges that Ukrainian military and the aggressor country will face.
In the drone war, we are winning. But the Russians have massively turned to using fiber-optic drones. This is a huge problem for us because they cannot be stopped by electronic warfare means, referring to the use of FPV drones.
Budanov emphasizes that fiber-optic based FPV drones are a new technological trend this year. Therefore, in 2025, Ukraine and its partners need to look for technological solutions to counter the mass use of such drones.
Forecasts for 2025 are more optimistic than for 2024. According to Budanov, '2024 will be very difficult,' but he believes that 2025 will bring many long-awaited positive events.
At the same Time, speaking about Russia, Budanov predicts serious economic problems for the aggressor country. If Russia does not change its policy by mid-2025, it will be forced to make tough decisions regarding the financial and economic sphere.
They will try to avoid this and will do everything to prevent it from happening.
