The U.S. Department of Defense is not confident in the active participation of North Korea in the fighting against Ukraine
The U.S. Department of Defense has no confirmation of the active participation of North Korean military in the fighting against Ukrainian forces, but does not rule out that this could happen at any moment. This was reported by Pentagon spokesman General Patrick Ryder.
'Currently, we have not seen North Korea involved in offensive combat operations, although we expect that at some point this could happen very likely,' the U.S. defense official noted.
He mentioned that in many cases, North Korean troops have been integrated into Russian units, 'and we are aware of reports regarding the deaths of North Korean soldiers as a result of Ukrainian strikes on Russian facilities.'
Ryder also noted that there is currently no specific information regarding the number of dead North Koreans.
