Weather forecast for the New Year in Ukraine
In Ukraine, no winter conditions are expected for the New Year. On Monday, December 30, no precipitation is anticipated. At night, in most regions, the temperature will be slightly below zero, with the coldest values reaching -3 degrees in the east. However, in the west and south of the country, positive temperatures will prevail.
During the day, the warmest weather will be in the south, with maximum temperatures reaching +5 degrees. The coldest conditions will be in the east, with maximum temperatures up to +3 degrees.
In Kyiv, no precipitation is expected, with temperatures at night reaching +2 degrees and during the day up to +5 degrees.
No snow or rain is anticipated in Ukraine for the New Year. Record warm weather is expected at night on December 31 with below-zero temperatures only in a few regions:
-1...+1 degrees in Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy;
-1...+1 degrees in Poltava, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson;
0...-2 degrees in Donetsk region.
In Kyiv, no precipitation is expected, with temperatures at night reaching +2 degrees and during the day up to +5 degrees.
On Wednesday, January 1, rain is expected in several regions, including Rivne, Volyn, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
Snow with rain is expected in Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions. Night frosts are possible in Transcarpathia, Prykarpattia, Chernivtsi, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions, with temperatures ranging from -1 to +1 degrees.
The warmest weather will be in the south, with maximum temperatures reaching +9 degrees. In Kyiv, rain is forecasted, with temperatures at night ranging from 0 to +2 degrees and during the day from +5 to +7 degrees.
Warmer January and previous November in Kyiv
January 2025 in Ukraine will be warmer than usual. The average monthly temperature is expected to be above normal.
The Copernicus Climate Center reported that November 2019 was the second warmest in history after last November.
