U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin will visit Ramstein Air Base in Germany on January 7 to participate in the 25th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.

According to Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh, his participation in the meeting aims to reaffirm the unwavering U.S. support for Ukraine and to demonstrate the importance of collaboration with defense ministers and military leaders from various countries.

The primary goal of the secretary is to provide practical support that will enhance Ukraine's ability to defend its territory and withstand future threats from Russia.

The announcement of Lloyd Austin's participation became known after the U.S. Department of Defense announced new military assistance to Ukraine amounting to 2.5 billion dollars.

Sabrina Singh emphasized that assistance will be provided to Ukraine depending on available resources and equipment. She also noted that after President Biden's term ends, support for Ukraine will continue, and new deliveries of defense equipment will arrive in the country.
