Ukraine received approximately 1.2 billion dollars from Japan through World Bank projects
The Ukrainian authorities received funds amounting to 1.2 billion dollars from Japan, said Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. These funds were provided as part of projects implemented by the World Bank.
According to the head of government, these funds were transferred in November-December and were intended for financing social, medical, educational projects, as well as supporting recovery and business. The total amount was allocated to the following projects:
602 million dollars were allocated under the INSPIRE project to ensure social protection for low-income and vulnerable segments of the population.
400 million dollars were allocated under the SURGE program for financing recovery and ensuring the resilience of Ukraine.
250 million dollars were allocated under the RISE project for the development of the private sector.
220 million dollars were allocated under the THRIVE project to improve the efficiency of public spending on healthcare.
200 million dollars were allocated under the LEARN project to create a safe and comfortable educational environment.
The Prime Minister emphasized that he highly appreciates Japan's and the World Bank's contribution to strengthening and developing Ukraine.
