Ukrainian singer Tanya Matviyenko is astonished by the popularity of her song 'Dandelions', which went viral after its release in 2022. She expressed her surprise and joy over this unexpected success during an interview on the show 'Breakfast with 1+1'.

Tanya shared that initially, she was unaware of the song's popularity, but various acquaintances started informing her that 'Dandelions' had become a viral hit on TikTok. The song initially appeared at 70th place on the charts, but gradually climbed to 60, 5, and 4 positions.

«It was really a surprise. I didn't know what was happening. My acquaintances started texting me: «Tanya, something is happening on TikTok, your song is everywhere». I thought it was not true. When my label wrote to me that the song had 'taken off', it was initially at 70th place, then 60, then five, four...», - the singer stated.

The song 'Dandelions' was written by Tanya Matviyenko on February 23, 2022, but due to the large war, it was released with a slight delay in December 2022. The singer believes that this popularity was gained thanks to the youth's activity.

«I think that, perhaps, through the active activities of my fan club. I honestly do not understand. But I still think it's because of the youth. The youth is active, after all. I'm very pleased. I have such a lift that I don't even sleep», - Matviyenko emphasized.

Tanya Matviyenko also mentioned that she has changed her professional activity and is now working as a lecturer at the University of Culture and Arts, as she is not professionally engaged in singing anymore. Earlier, she expressed her opinion on the offensive comments regarding her status as a divorcee and also denied rumors about her divorce from singer Arsen Mirzoian.
