To date, we have identified 25 different viruses. Among them, 11 cases of influenza B (44%), three cases of influenza A (12%), which was pandemic in 2009. This is the virus that spread across the Vinnytsia region and Ukraine, causing significant complications, including fatalities. Five cases of respiratory syncytial virus, two cases of adenovirus, two cases of rhinovirus, and two cases of metapneumovirus have also been detected this year.
The director of the center noted that this indicates the diversity of viruses and their ability to combine. In several cases, two different viruses were found in one person, complicating the course of the disease.
Moreover, the center is also testing wastewater for the presence of Covid-19 and influenza at two points - in Vinnytsia and Kalynivka. For the first Time this year, remnants of the influenza virus were found in wastewater.
