Occupants damaged the dam of the Kurakhiv reservoir in Donetsk region.

The dam of the Kurakhiv reservoir is damaged by the Russian army
In Donetsk region, the Russian army damaged the dam of the Kurakhiv reservoir. This led to the water level rising in the territory of Velikonovosilkivska community, according to the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Vadim Filashkin.
"The Russians damaged the dam of the Kurakhiv reservoir. This strike potentially threatens the residents of settlements on the Vovchi river - both in Donetsk region and in Dnipropetrovsk region", the statement said.
The head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Vadim Filashkin reported that as of 16:00 the water level in the river in the territory of Velikonovosilkivska community rose by 1.2 meters.
"So far, there have been no flooded houses! We continue to monitor the water level in the river and are ready for any events. I personally control the situation. In case of significant changes, I will provide additional updates," added the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
It should be reminded that on June 6 last year, Russian occupation forces undermined the Kakhovka HES. Local residents were evacuated from potentially flooded areas. In addition to the dam, the Russian occupiers exploded the turbines and generators of the Kakhovka HES. This accident resulted in billions of dollars in losses, not including the costs of restoring the dam and flooded areas.
