The ceremonial opening of the international 'Invictus Games 2025' took place today in Vancouver. These games gather veterans and servicemen who have sustained injuries and wounds.
The Ukrainian team made a loud declaration about themselves, chanting: 'Ukraine - above all!'.
The founder of the competition, Prince Harry, noted in his speech: 'Despite our differences, here - at the Invictus Games - we rely on mutual respect, fiercely compete, but believe in each other. We support one another. And we cheer for one another.'
Prince Harry personally met with the Ukrainian team after their performance, which was unexpected and created a real buzz among the athletes.
Earlier, Ukraine explained to the UN why Russia should not be allowed to international sporting events.
