The new NATO command will reach full capability by the end of the year

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte claims that the newly created NATO command in Wiesbaden will achieve full operational capability by the end of the year.

The Alliance will not allow any delays in supplying weapons to Ukraine or training Ukrainian military personnel. Rutte stated this at a joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Estonia.

"We are working hard to fulfill the commitments made during the summit in July, including the creation of the Command for assistance and training of Ukraine, as well as a financial contribution of at least 40 billion euros by 2024... The NSATU Command (NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine) will be fully operational by the end of the year. Many allies have already sent their personnel to NSATU," Rutte noted.

The creation of the new command in Wiesbaden will allow for the most effective plan for supplying weapons and training military personnel in Ukraine.

"It is very important that there are no interruptions in the delivery of weapons and training for Ukraine. We cannot afford this. By the decision made in Washington, we must do everything to ensure that Ukraine is fully compatible with NATO," Rutte stressed.

According to the Secretary General, allies are significantly improving their financial commitments to Ukraine. Already in the first half of the year, they provided Ukraine with weapons worth 21 billion euros. This brings them closer to the planned funding of 40 billion euros per year.
