Fines for Lack of Insurance: Drivers Explained Important Nuances.
The Department of Patrol Police has denied accusations regarding the automatic fixation of the absence of insurance policies in drivers.
Olexiy Biloshytskyi, the first deputy head of the Department of Patrol Police of Ukraine, officially commented on this situation on social media.
According to Biloshytskyi, there are currently no legislative grounds for implementing automatic fixation of this violation. In order to carry out such an initiative, amendments must be made to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses and relevant subordinate acts.
Moreover, the existing automatic fixation system is technically not prepared to detect vehicles without insurance policies. The department promised to inform citizens about the launch of such a function in advance through official sources.
At the same time, police continue to check for the presence of insurance policies during routine stops of vehicles.
