Birth date: 07.03.1945

Place of birth. Education. Born in the village of Pysarenky in the Reschetilowka district of the Poltava region. In 1975, he graduated from the Air Force Academy, and in 1991, from the General Staff Academy of the Armed Forces.

Career. 1967-1991 - Service in the Armed Forces of the USSR in positions from pilot to deputy commander of the Air Army.

1991-1999 - Service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in positions from commander of the Air Army to deputy minister of defense - commander of the Air Forces of Ukraine.

Since 2000, he worked in public organizations.

Since November 2005 - Deputy Minister for Emergency Situations and the Consequences of the Chernobyl Disaster. He worked with ministers David Zhvaniya, Viktor Baloga, Volodymyr Shandra, Nestor Shufrych (twice).

In July 2010 (shortly after the resignation of Minister Shufrych), he performed the function of head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Soon he was dismissed. He was succeeded by Mikhail Bolotsky.

Awards. Colonel General. Awarded the orders 'For Service in the Armed Forces' III, II Class and 10 medals.

Death. On November 19, 2020, Volodymyr Antonets died at the age of 75.
