Biography of Viktor Yanukovych Jr.
Date of birth: 16.07.1981
Place of birth. Education. He was born in Yenakiieve in Donbas. In 2003, he graduated from Donetsk National University with a degree in 'Enterprise Economics'.
Career. From July to November 2004, he was the first deputy general director of the Donetsk LLC 'BC'. From November 2005, he served as the deputy chairman of the All-Ukrainian Youth Social Organization 'Youth Alliance of the Regions of Ukraine' (the youth wing of the Party of Regions). At the same time, he was the first deputy general director of LLC 'BC-Engineering'.
In May 2006, he was elected as a deputy to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for the V and VI convocations (on behalf of the Party of Regions). In the VI convocation of parliament, he was a member of the Committee on Transport and Communications. In the previous Verkhovna Rada, he was the chairman of the subcommittee on road transport of the Committee on Transport and Communications.
Since December 2012, he has been a deputy in the VII convocation of the Verkhovna Rada on behalf of the Party of Regions (No. 22 on the list). Member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Informatization and Information Technologies.
Social activity. From June 2002 to September 2004, he worked as the vice president of the Donetsk Regional Social Organization 'Regional Support Center' (on a voluntary basis).
Family. Viktor Yanukovych's father is a former president of Ukraine, a former prime minister, and a former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. His mother Lyudmila Oleksandrivna is a housewife. His elder brother Oleksandr Yanukovych is a businessman.
Viktor Yanukovych Jr. was married and raised a son. His passion was off-road racing, in which he took podium places in the 'Ukraine Trophy' rallies.
After the escape of the former president from Ukraine, the whereabouts of his son Viktor Yanukovych Jr. were unknown. On March 20, 2015, information emerged that a jeep submerged under the ice on Lake Baikal in Russia, carrying several people. Everyone managed to get out, except for the identified Russian citizen Viktor David. Russian authorities did not confirm that the deceased was the son of the former president of Ukraine, but Ukrainian media noted that David is the surname of mother Lyudmila Yanukovych. On March 23, the official website of the Party of Regions confirmed that Oleksandr Zadorozhny died on Lake Baikal.
