Boris Vladimirovich Barski was born on September 22, 1959, in Odessa. He is a Ukrainian director, actor, poet, and member of the comedy group 'Maske'. He is also the director and head of the Odessa Theater 'Maske'. Boris Barski was awarded the title of People's Artist of Ukraine in 2009.
Career
While working as an engineer, Boris Barski attended a pantomime studio. This hobby gradually became his profession, and he began touring extensively. He fondly and gratefully remembers joint travels with director and clown Vyacheslav Polunin, with whom he collaborated and whom he considers his teacher.
Since 1984, Boris Barski has been working as one of the leading actors of the Odessa comedy group 'Maske', which is led by Georgy Deliev.
He appeared in all 80 episodes of the 'Maske-Show' and in films such as 'Seven Days with a Russian Beauty', 'The Private Life of Officials', and others. He played leading roles in theatrical productions such as 'Romeo and Juliet', 'Othello', 'Night Symphony', 'The Specially Married Taxi Driver', and similar.
Boris Barski has participated in projects such as 'Star Duo', 'Patriots Games', 'Dancing with the Stars', and other television programs.
In 2008, he was in Beijing as a supporter of Ukrainian Olympians.
Books
Boris Barski is the author of five plays and four collections of poems. The poetry collections include 'Lyrics', 'Balm for the Mind', 'Lyrical Poems about Love for Various Women', as well as a book for children and about children 'Essentially'. His first prose book 'Black Kittens' was published in 2011. He also released a lyrical musical album 'Lion Cough'.
Regalia
In 2009, Boris Barski was awarded the title of People's Artist of Ukraine. He is also a member of the Union of Filmmakers of Ukraine.
Family
Boris Barski has been married to his wife Natasha (1958) since 1980. They met in the pantomime studio, where she was his personal costume designer. Previously, Natalia worked as a chemist at the Odessa Scientific Research Institute.
They have two children: daughter Anastasia (born 1983) and son Konstantin (1984-2010).
