Alexander Bartenev

Date of Birth: 01.01.1956

Place of Birth, Education. Born in the village of Sestrinka, Zherdov District, Tambov Region (Russia). In 1978, he graduated from the Lenin Marine Engineering Academy in Leningrad (specialization 'Turbine Power Equipment'). In 2001, he graduated from the Academy of State Management of the President of Ukraine (specialization 'State Management').

Career. 1978-1981 - Commander of an electromechanical combat unit, Black Sea Fleet of the USSR.

1981-1993 - Engineer-mechanic in a group for the construction of warships in Feodossia.

1994-1996 - Deputy Director for Security at a company supplying oil products in Feodossia.

1996-2008 - Director of the company supplying oil products in Feodossia.

2008-2010 and 2010-2013 - Mayor of Feodossia.

Three times - in 1998, 2002, and 2006 - he was elected to the Supreme Council of Crimea. Member of the Party of Regions.

On the night of July 27, 2013, Bartenev was seriously injured when he was shot in the back with a prepared hunting rifle in his entrance hall. He died that evening in the hospital.

Awards. He was awarded the Order 'For Merit' II class (1999, 2002), the Order of M. Hrushevsky IV class (2000). He was named a Hero of Ukraine (with the conferring of the State Order, 2004). Honored Worker of Industry of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Honorary citizen of Feodossia.

Family. He was married and had a son named Sergey Bartenev.
