Jewgeni Alfredowitsch Tschervonenko - Ukrainian politician, businessman, racing driver. People's Deputy of the IV convocation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. From February to September 2005 - Minister of Transport and Communications of Ukraine. Chairman of the Zaporozhye Regional State Administration (2005-2007). In 2000-2001 he was the chairman of the State Reserve of Ukraine. He was the Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration (2008-2010), head of the aviation department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine (since 2011).

Place of Birth. Education. Born in Dnipropetrovsk, graduated from the Mining Institute there.

Sport and Business. In 1987, he founded the first professional car racing team 'Perestroika' in the USSR, which was based on self-financing. He achieved the titles of 'Master of Sports of the USSR' and 'Master of International Sports', as well as the titles of Ukrainian and Soviet champion.

From 1988, almost all income from the team's activities and personal successes in European car racing championships was used to establish the freight company Trans-Rally. In 1992, the future politician and official founded the JV Lviv Van Pur, which was the first in the CIS to launch the production of canned beer and soft drinks. In 1994, he was appointed chairman of the board of JV Rohn Wan Pur. A year later, he was appointed chairman of the Industrial Group Ukraine Van Pur. And in 1997, he became president of the Orlan Corporation.

Social Engagement. Since 1995, Tschervonenko has been involved in active social activities alongside his business. He joined the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, was at times the vice-president of the Kyiv - Taipei Society, chairman of the entrepreneurs committee of Ukraine under the Cabinet, member of the expert council of entrepreneurs, advisor to the President of Ukraine, member of the council of representatives of social organizations of national minorities of Ukraine, vice-president of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, and so on.

Politics. From June 2000 to August 2001, Tschervonenko headed the State Material Reserve Management Agency. In the parliamentary elections of 2002, he was elected as an independent candidate, taking the 30th place on the list of the Our Ukraine Bloc.

During the presidential elections of 2004, Tschervonenko was part of the inner circle of opposition candidate Viktor Yushchenko. He was entrusted with leading his personal protection.

After the victory of the Orange Revolution, he became Minister of Transport and Communications in the government of Yulia Tymoshenko. In this position, Tschervonenko tried to improve discipline in decision-making and implementation, complained about sabotage by his subordinates, achieved changes at the government level regarding the distribution of profits in the subordinate sectors, advocated a significant increase in the salaries of top managers (to prevent theft), promised to fight the corruption that had been 'nurtured' in the ports of the Odessa region, and advocated for preferences for shipping companies operating under the Ukrainian flag. He considers it his achievement to have improved the financial indicators of Ukrainian Railways and to have nearly doubled the company's tax payments.

After the dissolution of Tymoshenko's government, Tschervonenko found no place in the new government under Yuriy Yekhanurov. From December 8, 2005, he served as chairman of the regional administration of Zaporizhzhia.

On December 24, 2007, Yushchenko dismissed Tschervonenko from his position as governor due to a job change. On the same day, it became known that the politician was appointed head of the National Agency for the Preparation and Conducting of the Final Part of the Football European Championship 2012 in Ukraine. This agency was established by the second government of Viktor Yanukovych.

On November 20, 2009, Tymoshenko's cabinet decided to dissolve the National Agency for Euro-2012. On November 28, the former head of the agency, Tschervonenko, was appointed first deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Leonid Chernovetsky. He held this position until March 2010, when the mayor reduced the number of his deputies.

From March to May 2011, he headed the aviation department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine.

He unsuccessfully participated in the governor elections in the Odessa region.

In the early parliamentary elections of 2019, he participated as an independent candidate in constituency No. 134 (Odessa, Malinovsky district) and took second place with 16.85% of the votes (12,321 votes), behind the candidate of the Servant of the People party, Oleh Colev (35.11%, 25,672 votes).

In the local elections of 2020, he ran for mayor of Odessa for the Our Home party and took 6th place in the first round (3.69%, 7,614 votes). In the second round, he supported the candidate from the Opposition Platform - For Life, Mykola Skoryk.

Awards. Tschervonenko has been awarded the Order of Merit of the III and II degrees. He has a number of awards and titles from foreign states and organizations, including the title of 'Honorary Knight of the Order of St. Michael the Archistrategus.'

An experienced racing driver, winner of the European Cup 2013, vice-champion of the European Trophy 2014, champion of the Spartakiad of the peoples of the USSR, seven-time absolute champion of the USSR and independent Ukraine. In November 2015, he announced the end of his motorsport career as doctors prohibited him from participating in races.
