Date of Birth: 15.02.1953

Place of Birth. Education. Born in Kyiv. Of mixed heritage - half Ossete (on the father's side), half Ukrainian.

In 1974, he graduated from the Kyiv Institute of Theatre Arts named after Karpenko-Karyi with a degree in 'Theatre and Film Criticism'.

Career. 1974-1978 - Actor at the M. Zankovetsky Lviv Theatre (with a two-year break for military service).

1978-1980 - Actor at the Russian Academic Theatre of L. Ukrainka in Kyiv.

Since 1980 - Actor at the I. Franko National Academic Drama Theatre in Kyiv.

In 2000, he, together with theatre producer and director Myroslav Hrynyshyn and actor and colleague from the I. Franko Theatre, Bohdan Beniuk, founded the theatre company 'Beniuk and Hostikojew'.

Acting Achievements. He appeared in 'Babylon 20' (1979), 'The Mowers' (1979), 'The Train with an Unsanctioned Destination' (1980), 'Piggy Bank' (1980), 'Counterstrike' (1985), 'Million in the Bridal Basket' (1986), 'Stone Soul' (1989), 'Circus' (1990), 'Who is on top, who is on the bottom' (1991), 'The Burial on the Second Floor' (1991), 'Stamp' (1991), 'American Battle' (1992), 'For the Family Home' (1992), 'Trap' (1993), 'A Night Full of Questions...' (1993), 'Ransom' (1994), 'Roxelane' (1996), 'Lady Homeless' (2001), and others.

Theatre Roles: Aeneas ('Eneida' after I. Kotlyarevsky), Anton Kwitka ('Talent' by M. Staritsky), Commander ('The Stony Lord' by L. Ukrainka), Astrov ('Uncle Vanya' by A. Chekhov), Don Felipe ('Pious Marta' by Tirso de Molina), Antonio ('My Profession - a Gentleman of Social Nobility' by D. Scaranzki, D. Tarabuzi), Woland ('The Master and Margarita' by M. Bulgakov).

Political Career. Anatoli Hostikojew - Deputy of the Kyiv City Council in several legislative periods. In May 2008, he was elected in the extraordinary elections for the mayoral office of Kyiv and the new Kyiv City Council in the top five of the list of the Yulia Tymoshenko bloc. He was a member of the Committee on Culture and Information Policy. In September 2008, he resigned his deputy mandate exceptionally. Without party affiliation.

Awards. Honored Artist of Ukraine (1990), laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine named after T. Shevchenko (1996), winner of the national competition 'Man of the Year - 2001' and 'Man of the Year - 2003' in the category 'Actor of the Year'. Awarded with a certificate of honor from the Government of Ukraine. Laureate of the 'Kyiv Pectoral Prize'.

Family. The wife of Anatoli Hostikojew is the famous actress and presenter Natalia Sumska. The actor has sons - Georgiy (from the marriage with actress Lyubov Kubyuk) and Viacheslav (from the marriage with N. Sumska).
