Biography
Date of Birth: 13.04.1955
Place of Birth. Education. Since 1939 she lived in Moscow. She graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the Patrice Lumumba University of Peoples' Friendship. She defended her dissertation for the Doctor of Economic Sciences at the Faculty of Economics of Lomonosov Moscow State University. In 1983, she received the title of Associate Professor of Political Economy. She speaks English and French.
Career. Since 1980, she was a Junior Researcher at the Institute of the State Planning Committee of the RSFSR, then worked for five years as a Senior Lecturer, Instructor, and Deputy Head of the Department at a university at the Likhachev plant. From 1989, she was engaged in entrepreneurial activities. She was one of the leaders of the Cooperative 'Systems+Programs', Director of the Information and Analytical Center, Chief Expert, and member of the Exchange Council of the Russian Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange (RTSBE). She was actively involved in charitable work and organized a home care service for bedridden patients in the Sverdlovsk district of Moscow.
She was elected three times to the State Duma of the Russian Federation. Twice as an independent deputy from the Orekhovo-Borisovsky district of Moscow. From 1994, she was a member of the Economic Policy Committee of the Duma. She was a member of the Duma delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. In 1994, she organized the deputy group 'Liberal Democratic Union 'December 12''. From 1996, she was a member of the Budget Committee, the Finance Committee, and the Banking Committee of the Duma.
In 1997, by the order of the government of the Russian Federation, she was appointed chairwoman of the State Committee for Support and Promotion of Small Business. She was a member of the Russian government's Commission for Economic Reforms, Chairwoman of the Advisory Council for Support and Promotion of Small Business in the CIS member states. She participated in the work of the Political Advisory Council under the President of the Russian Federation, the Public Council for Small Business under the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.
In 1999, she led the Institute for the Development of Entrepreneurship.
In December 1999, she was re-elected to the State Duma as a leader of the democratic party Union of Right Forces (Legislature 1999-2003) for the Eastern constituency of St. Petersburg. From January to June 2000, she was a member of the Duma Budget and Tax Committee and Chairwoman of the Committee for the Protection of Investor Rights. In June 2000, she was elected Deputy Chairwoman of the Duma.
She is a member of the Council for Foreign and Defense Policy, a member of the 'Russia in a United Europe' Committee, a member of the Board of the shelter 'Otradnoye' (Moscow).
From 1995 to 2000, she was the Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the All-Russian political society 'Common Cause', which she founded. From 2000 to 2003, she was a co-founder of the party Union of Right Forces. In 2004, she left the SPS.
In 2016, she became a member of the Political Council of the Growth Party. She participated in the elections to the Duma of the VII Congress as a candidate of the Growth Party, in the first part of the regional list of Moscow. The Growth Party received 1.11% of the votes and did not make it to the parliament.
Books. She actively works on her books. In 2006, she published the book 'SEX in Politics'. In 2007, she published the love-political novel 'LOVE. BEYOND THE CHECKERBOARD. The Story of a Political Suicide', after which she plans to shoot a feature film based on it. In 2008, she published the book 'SUCCESS in the Big City'.
In 2010, she published the book 'Dao of Life' based on materials from her master classes.
In 2018, the book 'Restart: How to Live Many Lives' was published.
Business Trainer. She conducts master classes on how to succeed in modern Russia while staying free. She teaches at the training company 'City-Class', at the International Business School of the Financial Academy of the Government of the Russian Federation, at MGIMO, has created video courses at SGA and MBS, and taught at MGIMO.
Television and Radio. She hosted the program 'Success in the Big City' on the radio, the show 'Success in the Big City' on the TV channel 'Entertainment Park'. She moderated the program 'Evening Gillary' on the 'Rain' channel.
Awards. In 1995, she was named by Time magazine as the politician of the 21st century among the 100 most famous women in the world. Family Relationships. Father - Mutsuo Hakamada, a Japanese communist who emigrated to the USSR in 1939 for political reasons and adopted Soviet citizenship (died in 1991). Mother - Nina Sinelnikova, a retiree who worked as a school teacher. Husband - Vladimir Syrotinsky - financial consultant, manager. Son - Danila - graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Graduate School of MGIMO, works as a financial director in a trading company. Daughter - Maria.
