Sergei Nikolaevich Kaplin - Ukrainian politician, people's deputy of the VII.-VIII. Congresses. Chairman of the party of simple people, renamed to Social Democratic Party.

Place of Birth. Education. Born in the village of Opryshki in the Hlobine district of Poltava region. Graduated from the Ukrainian State University of Food Technology (Economist). From 2011, studied at the Kyiv National Economic University (Master's program in Law).

In 2022, he defended his dissertation for obtaining a Doctorate in Philosophy with a focus on 'Law'.

Career Founder of several publications - the Ukrainian-Russian newspaper, the newspapers Sparks of Entrepreneurs, Sparks of Simple People.

2001-2005 - Director of the Kremenchug Leather Goods Plant.

2005-2007 - Director of the International Business Partnership Agency UkrEksimTsentr (Poltava).

2007 - President of the Environmental Resources company (Luhansk).

2008-2011 - Director of the Institute for Water and Energy Saving (Kremenchug).

Since December 2012 - People's Deputy of Ukraine of the VII. Congress from the UDAR party (led by Vitali Klitschko). He won the elections in the district No. 144 (Poltava region). Secretary of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Defense.

In the fall of 2014, he was elected to the Parliament in early elections as a candidate of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc in the same district No. 144 (Poltava region). He belonged to the faction of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc. First Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Parliament on Social Policy, Employment and Pension Insurance.

On February 17, 2016, Sergei Kaplin submitted a statement of resignation from the parliamentary coalition.

On October 1, 2017, Sergei Kaplin was elected Chairman of the Social Party at a congress of the Social Party of Ukraine.

On May 28, 2019, Sergei Kaplin left the faction of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc.

In the early parliamentary elections of 2019, he ran in the 144th single-member district (Poltava region). Following the election results, he lost in the district to the candidate of the party Sluha Narodu Dmitry Naletov.

Social Activity. 1998-2002 - Chairman of the public organization Ukrainian League of Young Entrepreneurs.

2000-2004 - Member of the Political Council of the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Ukraine, member of the board of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, adviser to the chairman of the State Committee for Entrepreneurship Development and Regulatory Policy.

Since 2006 - founder and chairman of the civic association Investors Union.

Since 2008 - member of the public council at the State Customs Service of Ukraine, the public council at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

From 2007 to 2010, advisor to the president of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Anatolii Kinakh (People's Deputy of Ukraine from the Party of Regions).

In 2012, he founded the citizens' movement of simple people and then founded the party of simple people.

Hobbies. As Kaplin himself claims, he devotes all his free time to his only hobby - fishing.
