During the registration of candidates for the 2012 parliamentary elections, one of the most active legislative members faced failure: The Central Election Commission refused to register Karmazin as a candidate. It turned out that Karmazin submitted documents for registration in two districts simultaneously - No. 151 in the Poltava region and No. 179 in Kharkiv. Later, he decided against running in district No. 179, but the CEC did not take this into account, as Karmazin was not officially a registered candidate on the day he submitted the application for withdrawal. Ultimately, the majority of commission members voted to completely deny Karmazin registration as a people's deputy and return his submitted deposit. Karmazin himself stated that the CEC intentionally refused to register him as a candidate, calling it a purely politically motivated decision.
