Biography of Andrij Korobczynski
Date of Birth: 29.08.1969
Place of Birth, Education. He was born in Kyiv. In 1987, he graduated from the Odessa Maritime School of the Ukrainian Maritime Fleet (specialization - 'marine transport operation', qualifications - 'operation technician'). In 2003, he graduated from the Economic-Legal Faculty of the I. Mechnikov National University in Odessa (specialization - 'law'). In 2005, he graduated from the Odessa State Academy of Construction and Architecture's Institute of Advanced Training (qualification - 'specialist in enterprise economics'). In 2006, he graduated from the Odessa Regional Institute of Public Administration of the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine (specialization - 'public administration', qualification - 'master of public administration'). In 2007, he graduated from the Industrial and Civil Engineering Faculty of the Institute of Advanced Training of the Odessa State Academy of Construction and Architecture.
Career. 1987-1991 - chief mechanic at ATP 'Odesarecursy'.
1991-1994 - general director of a small enterprise 'Exodus'.
1994-2003 - chief specialist for marketing and new technologies at CJSC 'Ukrainian-Russian-Irish Insurance 'INTO'.
Since 2003 - president of the industrial and construction group 'Intobud'.
On the evening of January 5, 2011, A. Korobczynski was shot in Odessa. He was taken to the emergency hospital, where he died.
Social Activity. 2002-2006 - councilor of the IV convocation of the Odessa City Council. 2006-2010 - councilor of the V convocation of the Odessa City Council (from the Opposition Bloc 'Not YES!'). From 2002 to September 2009 - member of the permanent commission on construction, architecture, and land relations, and from September 2009 - member of the permanent commission on youth and sports.
Since 2005 - first vice-president of the Employers Association 'Odessa Builders Union'.
President of the Odessa Region Powerlifting Federation.
On November 27, 2009, at the VII Congress of the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Ukraine (PPP), he was elected chairman of the party (previously the party was led by a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the Party of Regions, former Prime Minister Anatoliy Kinakh).
In the 2010 local elections, he ran for the position of mayor of Odessa. He finished third (the elections were won by Oleksiy Kostusev, and Eduard Hurvich came in second).
Awards. Since 2005 - actual member of the Ukrainian Academy of Construction.
Several times he has been among the top-ranking most influential people in the region.
Family. Wife - Angela Korobczynska. Four children - Karina (born 1988), Artur (born 1989), Daniil (born 1998), Sonja (born 2003).
