Views and Ratings. Already during the 2007 election campaign, Lesya Orobitsch was associated by Ukrainska Pravda with the so-called Viktor Baloga group, the secretary of Ukrainian president Viktor Yushchenko. The reason was that Lesya's father, Yuri Orobitsch, actively participated in the election campaign for the mayor of Mukachevo in 2004. At that time, the Baloga candidate's victory was 'stolen' and Orobitsch was beaten in this key conflict of dirty elections.
Soon, parliamentary life showed that Orobitsch truly was a person from Baloga's 'circle'. In March 2008, she became a member of the new, pro-presidential party United Center, competing with Our Ukraine. She became a member of the presidium of this project, which was praised by the chairman of the secretariat.
Moreover, Orobitsch became a notable participant in the 'sneaky' resistance between Bankova and the group of deputies of NUNS with the Tymoshenko government and BYuT. Thus, she submitted a resolution to the Verkhovna Rada for the establishment of a temporary investigative committee on the purchase of land in the Kyiv region by the influential 'bütovists' Bohdan Hubs'.
However, in November 2010, after President Viktor Yanukovych appointed Baloga as Minister of Emergencies, Orobitsch left United Center.
At the end of February 2014, Lesya Orobitsch expressed during the political crisis in Ukraine for a possible ban on the activities of the Communist Party of Ukraine.
