Sergei Nikolaevich Ryzhuk - Head of the Zhytomyr Regional Government (2004-2005, 2010-2014), Deputy of the Parliament of Ukraine V, VI. Doctor of Agricultural Sciences.

Place of Birth. Education. Born in the village of Chudnov, Zhytomyr Oblast. In 1975, he graduated from the Zhytomyr Agricultural Institute with a degree in Economic Organizer. Doctor of Agricultural Sciences. Corresponding Member of the Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Career. 1976 - Economist of the collective farm named after Ostrovsky (Chudniv District, Zhytomyr Oblast).

1976-1979 - Instructor of the Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine in Zhytomyr.

1979-1983 - Second, First Secretary of the Regional Committee of the Komsomol in Zhytomyr.

1983-1986 - First Secretary of the District Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine in Zhemilchynsky.

1986-1987 - Inspector of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine.

1987-1991 - First Deputy Head of the Agriculture Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine.

1991-1992 - Deputy Head of the Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Ukraine.

1992-1996 - Director of the Union of Agricultural Enterprises UkrAgroForm.

1996-1997 - Assistant to the President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma.

1997-2000 - Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine.

2001-2002 - State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture of Ukraine.

2002-2004 - Minister of Agriculture of Ukraine in the first government of Viktor Yanukovych.

2004-2005 - Head of the Zhytomyr Regional Government.

2005-2006 - Deputy Director of the Scientific Library of the Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

2006-2007 - Deputy of the Parliament of Ukraine V. Congress of the Party of Regions (No. 189 on the ballot). Chairman of the Subcommittee on Agricultural, Water, and Forestry Sector Reform, Production, and Quality of Agricultural Products of the Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations of the Verkhovna Rada.

From November 2007 - Deputy of the Parliament of Ukraine VI. Congress of the Party of Regions (No. 176 on the list). Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations of the Verkhovna Rada.

On March 18, 2010, he was appointed as the Head of the Zhytomyr Regional Government by the decree of President Yanukovych.

On February 20, 2014, he announced his departure from the Party of Regions.

On March 2, 2014, he was dismissed from the position of Head of the Zhytomyr Regional Government by the order of Acting President of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov and replaced by Sidir Kisin.

Charitable Activities. Since 2006, Chairman of the UkrAgroLes Association.

Awards. Honored Worker of Agriculture (1999).

State Servant of 1st Rank (2002).

Family. Wife - Ludmila Ryzhuk (born 1953). Son Volodymyr Ryzhuk (born 1973), daughter Olga Hramotenko (born 1981).
