Date of Birth: 02.05.1976

Place of Birth. Education. Oksana Syroid was born in the village of Horodysche, Sokalsky District, Lviv Oblast. In 1997, she graduated from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (Political Science, Bachelor). In 2000, she graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Law, Master). In 2003, she received an LL.M. degree (Master of Laws) from the University of Ottawa, Canada.

She speaks fluent Russian and English, and Polish at an intermediate level.

Career. While studying at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Oksana Syroid worked in secretarial positions in Ukrainian political organizations: from July 1994 to February 1996, she was the assistant to the chairman of the Ukrainian Republican Party. From March to December 1996, she was the assistant-adviser to Ukrainian deputy Ihor Yukhnovskyi.

From January 1997 to February 1998, she was a Senior Specialist in the Office of the Interdepartmental Analytical Advisory Council for the Development of Productive Forces and Production Relations of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

From June 1998 to September 1999, she was an expert on social reform issues for the United Nations Development Programme “Support for Economic, Social and Administrative Reforms in Ukraine” under the Office of the Interdepartmental Council for the Implementation of the Economic Reform Programme in Ukraine.

From November 1999 to September 2000, she coordinated the section “Implementation of the Results of Functional Inspection in the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy of Ukraine” of the UK Department for International Development project “Support for Structural Reforms in Ukraine.”

From October 2000 to July 2001, she was a legal advisor in the United Nations Development Programme “Support for Economic, Social and Administrative Reforms in Ukraine.”

From August 2001 to May 2002, she was the head of the office and secretary of the Interdepartmental Analytical Advisory Council for Issues of Development of Productive Forces and Production Relations of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

From November 2002 to April 2003, she completed an internship at the law firm “Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP” in Ottawa, Canada.

Since 2003, she has been a self-employed entrepreneur.

From 2004 to 2012, she worked as a project manager in the Ukrainian office of the OSCE. She was involved in projects in the fields of administrative law, administrative justice, legal education, and human rights education.

In 2014, she participated as an expert in the work of the “Reform Package” group led by Anna Hopko. As a result of the group’s work, she was included in the party “Self-Help Union” electoral list under No. 4.

Political Career. From November 2014 to August 2019, she was a deputy in the VIII Parliament of Ukraine.

Non-partisan.

On December 4, 2014, the Parliament approved Oksana Syroid's candidacy from the Self-Help Party as Vice President of the Parliament. 313 deputies voted for the corresponding Resolution No. 1255.

Additionally, Syroid was a member of the Commission on Strengthening Democracy and Ensuring the Rule of Law under the President of Ukraine. She co-authored several bills, including the law amending the Ukrainian law 'On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges,' which received positive reviews from the Council of Europe’s Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission). She was a member of the expert group of the temporary special committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to draft a law on the development and application of languages in Ukraine.

Early elected parliamentary elections 2019 candidate for Parliament from the Self-Help Party, No. 5 on the list. In the elections to the VRU the Self-Help Party did not exceed the 5% threshold.

On October 19, 2019, Oksana Syroid was elected as the chair of the Self-Help party.

Charity Work. Founder of the Kyrylo-Mefodii Foundation. Expert of the “Reform Package” in the area of judicial reform, constitutional and administrative reform.

Family. Unmarried. Father - Syroid Ivan Maxymovych (1945-2003) - miner. Mother - Syroid Kateryna Vasylyvna (1954) - teacher.
