Former US President Donald Trump has refused the next debates with Vice President Kamala Harris. However, both presidential candidates may give interviews, reports Axios.

According to the publication, Trump and Harris are considering participating in the "60 Minutes" program on CBS News. If this happens, their interviews will be broadcast one after another on October 7 as a grand finale of the election campaign.

According to Axios, Harris's campaign is actively negotiating with the "60 Minutes" program. Sources close to Trump claim that the interview will take place soon, but the exact date has not yet been set.

Interview News

It is noted that "60 Minutes" took an unexpected step by revealing the intent to interview in an article by David Bauder of the Associated Press dated September 12.

The article states that Scott Pelley was assigned to interview Trump, while Bill Whitaker was to conduct the interview with Harris. In particular, Whitaker already interviewed Harris last fall, which provided an opportunity to get acquainted and helped to activate the campaign.

In addition, vice-presidential candidates Tim Walz and JD Vance were also invited.

"I am confident this will be effective. No campaign would refuse the opportunity to appear on '60 Minutes'," said Bill Owens, executive producer of the show, to the Associated Press.
