The Ukrainian authorities are working on creating a drone that will be able to destroy Russian kamikaze drones. According to The Telegraph, having learned the relevant details, the Ukrainian interceptor drone will be called Sting.

According to the source, Sting will be a first-person view controlled drone and will become a cheaper alternative to missiles used to destroy these kamikaze drones.

The Telegraph also publishes for the first Time a photo of the new drone developed by the Ukrainian group 'Wild Hornets'. It is claimed that this drone is capable of flying at speeds of over 160 km per hour and ascending to a height of about 3 km.

Sting will have a quadcopter design with a large dome housing a warhead and camera. The operator will be able to control the drone from the ground using VR glasses and will have the ability to target the aim with artificial intelligence assistance.

While the Ukrainian Defense Forces have already successfully destroyed Russian reconnaissance drones, Sting will be the first drone specifically developed to combat Shahed-136 kamikaze drones.

It is claimed that the average cost of Sting will be much lower than that of Shahed drones, allowing Ukraine to save on anti-aircraft missiles.

Previously, the head of the Pentagon praised the quality of Ukrainian drones, which are capable of operating at a great distance from the base.

The Ukrainian-Russian war has become a battlefield for drones. The Russian Federation even destroyed its own unmanned aerial vehicle S-70 'Okhotnik' over Ukraine's territory because it lost control over it.
