Jude Law to play Putin in the film 'Kremlin Sorcerer'.
British actor Jude Law has been cast as Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in the film 'Kremlin Sorcerer'. This was reported by Deadline.
“I haven't started working on this role yet, so I'm uncertain. You could say that right now it feels like climbing Everest. I'm looking up and feeling overwhelmed. And when I say that, I often feel: 'Oh God, how am I going to do this?' But still, that's my problem now,” the actor shared.
It is known that Jude Law received the role in a film by French director Olivier Assayas in May 2024. The screenplay is based on the eponymous book by Giuliano da Empoli, which was released in February 2022.
The film tells the story of a TV producer who becomes a political technologist for Vladimir Putin in the 90s. The main character, Vadim Baranov, is based on the former deputy head of the presidential administration and advisor to Putin, Vladislav Surkov.
Also starring in 'Kremlin Sorcerer' will be Paul Dano, Alicia Vikander, Tom Sturridge, and Zach Galifianakis, although their roles have not yet been revealed.
Variety magazine named the film 'Sorcerer' one of the most anticipated projects at the Cannes Film Festival.
Recall that Polish director Patryk Vega, known also by the pseudonym Besalil, has made a film about President of Russia Vladimir Putin. The film premiered worldwide on September 26 and has been shown in 35 countries. The use of artificial intelligence allowed for the recreation of Putin's image and to depict his 'most intimate moments of life.'
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has banned Vladimir Putin from referencing philosopher Immanuel Kant during the celebrations marking the 300th anniversary of his birth. He stated that Putin's actions 'contradict the core assertions' of the philosopher.
In his speech, the chancellor emphasized the importance of Kant's work 'To Perpetual Peace.' Although this treatise does not contain practical recommendations for resolving modern military conflicts, it offers wise advice for contemplation.
