Generally, a groomer is a specialist who takes care of animals, mainly dogs and cats. Their work includes cutting, washing, combing, trimming nails, and cleaning ears. A groomer not only makes a pet more beautiful but also helps maintain its health, as professional care prevents many skin, coat, and even behavioral problems.
Who is a groomer?
A groomer is a specialist in pet care who provides a wide range of services:
Hygienic and modeling haircut for dogs and cats.
Bathing and drying pets using special cosmetics.
Combing fur and removing mats.
Trimming nails and cleaning ears.
Assessing the condition of skin and fur, care recommendations.
Groomers work in specialized salons, veterinary clinics, or provide mobile services, visiting clients at home. The profession requires patience, a love for animals, and the ability to work with various breeds.

Despite seeming like a simple profession, groomer training can be quite complex. One should be ready for this.
In Ukraine, there are many courses and training centers where you can acquire grooming skills. The main training options are:
Private grooming courses. This is the most popular option, where training lasts from a few weeks to several months. The cost of courses varies from 5,000 to 25,000 UAH, depending on the program and teaching level.
Veterinary schools and colleges. Some educational institutions offer grooming courses as part of the specialty 'Veterinary Medicine'.
