Trump: The USA will take control of the Gaza Strip.
Trump is ready to take control of the Gaza Strip
President of the United States Donald Trump expressed his country's readiness to take control of the Gaza Strip and develop this enclave. He also did not rule out the possibility of deploying American troops to the region.
'The USA will take control of the Gaza Strip, and we will also do the work with it. We will manage it and will be responsible for dismantling all dangerous bombs and other unexploded ordnance,' said Trump.
The statement from the American president was made at a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington, reports RBK-Ukraine citing Reuters.
In response to questions from the media regarding the possibility of deploying US troops to Gaza, Trump stated that 'if it is necessary - we will do it.'
He noted that he envisions how people from all over the world will 'live in the Gaza Strip', and that 'we will turn this into an international, incredible place... Palestinians too, Palestinians will live there, many people will live there.'
In the opinion of the US president, after demining and clearing the war-destroyed buildings in the enclave, it would be possible to 'create economic development that will provide an unlimited number of jobs and housing for people in this area.'
Trump stated that Washington will ask other neighboring countries to accept the Palestinians displaced from Gaza.
