March 20: What holiday is today, signs and prohibitions.

March 20 is International Earth Day, International Day of Happiness, and the day of the vernal equinox. This day also honors the memory of the holy fathers who were killed in the monastery of St. Sava.
International Earth Day
On April 22, 1970, the first event dedicated to Earth Day took place. It was organized by American activist and politician Gaylord Nelson, along with students from Harvard University led by Dennis Hayes. The main goal of the event was to draw public attention to the fragility of our planet's ecosystem.
This event gained widespread support and became an annual occurrence that spread across the globe. In many countries, International Earth Day is celebrated on the day of the vernal equinox, which falls on March 20 or 21. In 2025, this holiday will fall on March 20.
We all bear responsibility for peace and harmony on our planet. Only goodwill and a positive spirit can stop our false direction. Let’s preserve the prospect of life!
International Day of Happiness
The UN General Assembly proposed to celebrate the International Day of Happiness on March 20. This resolution was adopted on June 28, 2012, aiming to promote sustainable development, justice, and combat poverty worldwide.
Happiness is important for each individual as well as for society as a whole.
Vernal Equinox
On the day of the vernal equinox, which falls on March 20-21, the sun can be seen directly overhead. This phenomenon occurs only twice a year - during the vernal and autumnal equinoxes. On this day, the duration of day is equal to the duration of night, that is, 12 hours.
The Vernal Equinox is the astronomical beginning of spring. In spring, the day becomes longer, and the night shorter. This holiday is now eagerly awaited, just as our ancestors used to do. They celebrated the arrival of spring and welcomed new life.
