Post-War Overhaul Demanded by 88% of Ukrainians: 67% Want a New President.
Survey Reveals Public Sentiment on Political Change
According to Espreso.tv: A recent sociological study indicates that 88% of Ukrainians anticipate a complete reset of central government once the war concludes. Among those, 67% specifically desire a change in the presidency. These findings highlight a strong public push for political renewal, likely driven by the ongoing challenges and events shaping the country during the conflict.
Conducted between May 7 and June 3, 2026, the survey included 1,000 respondents—Ukrainian citizens aged 18 and older. The margin of error for results near the 50% mark is within 4.1%. Notably, a majority of participants oppose holding elections during wartime, suggesting a preference for stable conditions before democratic processes resume.
The Role of Public Opinion in Shaping Policy
These results underscore how crucial public opinion is for policy formation both during and after the war. The widespread call for a government reset reflects a desire for renewal and reforms that could help stabilize the nation.
Given the heightened demand for political leadership changes, this survey serves as a clear signal to the current administration about the need for reforms and adaptation to citizen needs. In a time of war, when society faces immense stress and hardship, such sentiments could steer Ukraine's future political direction and the strategies designed for post-conflict recovery.
