According to ТСН: 94-year-old Muriel Baker from Great Britain found an original way to fulfill her long-standing dream of a beautiful garden. Due to difficulties in caring for plants, she decided to commission an artist to create a mural on the facade of her house.

The fresco was created by British artist John Minshull. Over five days, he depicted a huge blooming garden on the wall, including trees, roses, green bushes, and decorative butterflies. At Muriel's request, the artist also added small birds, a thrush, a deer, and elements framing the doorway.

“I wanted to see a garden every day, but I couldn't take care of it. The fresco gives the feeling that I am in a real garden,”

the woman said. She also noted that the mural attracts great interest from local residents who come to examine the details of the painting and take photos of it.

This fresco has already become the second one on her house. Last spring, the artist fulfilled a previous order, creating a picture of a farmhouse on another wall, based on an old family photograph provided by Muriel.

The cost of both murals was £2000 (about 110000 hryvnias), and, according to the woman, these expenses are completely justified. She notes that the artworks bring her great pleasure, especially at times when she cannot lead an active lifestyle as she did three years ago.

For John Minshull, this project also turned out to be special. Although he has created thousands of murals in Great Britain and the USA, this is the first time he has worked with someone of Muriel's age. The artist emphasized that his goal was to give the woman a beautiful view, as her real garden occupies a very small area.

“What inspired me the most was Muriel's reaction at the moment of completing the work, as it is people’s emotions that make my work important,”

Minshull noted.

This story highlights how art can change everyday life and bring joy. Muriel, despite difficulties, found a way to fill her life with beauty, and the artist was given the opportunity to do something meaningful for a person who truly needs it. Together they created not just a mural, but a true story of friendship and support through art.
