Sowing in partial shade

Next, it's worth remembering that it's better to sow spinach where the sun does not shine all day long. This way, you can protect the plants from overheating and excess light. If you have already scattered this herb, you can create shade for it using, for example, a piece of slate or a small net.

Regular watering

It's also important not to forget to water spinach - the plant needs water, and quite a lot. You will need ten liters of water for each square meter, and it’s better to do this once or twice a week. If it’s very hot outside, you should water more often, while on cloudy days, once is enough. And don't forget that if there are frequent rains, additional watering is not needed.

Fertilizing the beds

To obtain a harvest and prevent the spinach from flowering, it needs fertilization. Plants should be enriched with phosphorus and potassium, and you can also add a little nitrogen. Wood ash, nettle infusion, diluted chicken manure, yeast solution, etc., are well suited.

Updating the plantings

If your spinach has already started to bolt, it's best to reseed it in a new spot where it will feel comfortable and find nutrient-rich soil. In the fall, you can even plant this herb in a sunny area.
